Description: Choral work (Christmas carol for 2. day of Christmas) based on a folksong from Nagu in Finland. This "Staffansvisa" is notated by. G.Dahlström after Carl Lundström b. 1851. Songs based on legends around Staffan/ Stephanos the first Deacon and martyr are among the most numerous "Mideaval ballads" of Sweden and the swedish speaking parts of Finland. Acording to the legends Stephanos was a groom at the stables of King Herod and upon seeing the star knew that Christ the savior was born. He later became a desciple and then the first deacon.
