Life

Born: 1757

Died: 1837

Biography
Stevens worked mainly as an organist (from 1796 at the Charterhouse) and in 1801 became Gresham Professor of Music in London. His glees show the influence of instrumental music. He also wrote church music, an opera and an oratorio, songs and keyboard pieces.
