Qualunche giostr'all' amorosa impresa,
si veste come vol, bigi'o vermiglio,
ma'l mio color sara nero e pardiglio.

Cosi scopra il suo ardor assai o poco,
sott'alcun segn'o di ross'o mariglio,
ma'l segno mio sara nero e vermiglio.

Ne si fusse gettato mez' al foco,
io cangero mai piu voglia o consiglio
che non sia'l mio color nero e vermiglio.

E giuro mo con cor puro e sincero,
e fin che vivo monstraro con vero,
che'l mio color sara pardiglio e nero.
