Prolongati sunt dies mei in servitio tuo, Domine,
et utraque tibi fortuna servientem probasti me

quia viderunt oculi mei te salvum in regno tuo
et victorem bellorum omnium,
cum felici gloria in qua vives in aeternum
ante faciem populorum.

Prolonged are my days in your service, O Lord,
you have tested me serving you in both good fortune and ill,
and in the sweat of my brow recognised my labour and fidelity.

My bones have grown old, day by day they have been awaiting the sorrows of death,
that I may give an account of my stewardship before the eyes of the Redeemer,
who, suffering for us, atoned for our sins in the torture of the cross.

If it is permitted to say thus: now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,
for mine eyes have seen thee safe in thy realm,
and the victor of all wars,
with blessed glory in which you will live forever
before the face of the people.
