Original text and translations

Latin.png Latin text Presidiorum erogatrix, tutrix rei,
virens satrix gracialis seminis,
salve virgo nobilis Maria,
supplici cum armonia clericalis generis,
et in tuo plaudat cultu cuneus fidelium,
protegere quem ab insultu, tu hostium crudelium!
Tota pulchra es, amica tu dei sine muge plica
et non est in te macula, in Iericho tu florens rosa,
Tu nigra fusca sed formose ut cedar tabernacula.
O virga Iesse, que es lassis, falx in messe,
firma cassis frendentem contra zabulum,
delictis parce iuventutis,
in celi arce dams salutis
et vite nobis pabulum, O Maria.

English.png English translation Distributor of alms, guardian of all,
and true vitality of the seed of grace,
noble virgin Mary,
we supplicate you, we beseech your grace in supplications with monastic harmony,
all in your praise. Batallions of the faithful applaud,
protecting you from the insults of your cruel enemies!
You are totally beautiful, O Virgin, God's mistress without conception,
nor any single stain nor flaw. In Jericho you are a flow'ring rose,
so dark, black and dark yet beautiful, just as the Tabernacle Cedar.
O branch of Jesse, scythe in the harvest, for the weary!
Yea, though we strive, we falter to the Devil's way.
Forgive the failings of youth!
From heaven's arc send out greeting
and the food of life to us, O Mary!
