BiographyLittle is known of Domarto's life, although music theorist and composer Johannes Tinctoris described Domarto, along with composer Jean Cousin, as "non parvae auctoritatis" (of no small authority). In the 1470s, Tinctoris apparently singled out Dmoarto as his "whipping boy" for committing composition "errors" in the 1450s according to composition theory that may have influenced other composers decades after, such as Antoine Busnois, Johannes Ockeghem and Johannes Regis. He wrote one of the earliest unified mass cycles in continental Europe
