General information
The Lord's Prayer, Pater Noster or Our Father is a Christian prayer, commonly used in worship. As it appears in the Versicles and Responses at Evensong and Mattins, the Lord's Prayer has been set to music by some composers. The original text was in Greek, taken from the Gospels according to Matthew (in its most common form) and Luke.
For metrical versions of the Pater noster, see Our Father who in heaven art and Vater unser im Himmelreich.
