The anonymous O nata lux de lumine is the office hymn at Lauds of the Feast of the Transfiguration (Aug. 6, more recently observed by Anglicans and Lutherans on the last Sunday before Lent.) A metrical version in English is O Light of light, by love inclined translated by Laurence Housman for The English Hymnal, 1906.

O nata lux de lumine,
Jesu redemptor saeculi,
Dignare clemens supplicum
Laudes precesque sumere.

Qui carne quondam contegi
Dignatus es pro perditis,
Nos membra confer effici
Tui beati corporis.

¡Oh luz, nacida de la luz,
Jesús, Redentor del mundo!
Dígnate, Clemente, a aceptar
las alabanzas y súplicas
de quienes te imploran.

Tú, que te dignaste
revestirte de nuestra carne,
por amor de los que estaban perdidos,
concédenos que lleguemos a ser miembros
de tu Cuerpo santo.
Translation by Alejandro Borrego

English.png English translation

O Light born of Light,
Jesus, redeemer of the world,
with loving-kindness deign to receive
suppliant praise and prayer.

Thou who once deigned to be clothed in flesh
for the sake of the lost,
grant us to be members
of thy blessed body.

French.png French translation

O lumière née de la lumière
Jésus, rédempteur du monde.
Daigne, clément à ceux qui supplient,
Recevoir louanges et prières.

Toi qui un jour daignis te vêtir
De chair pour les damnés
Permets-nous d'être membres
De ton corps bienheureux.

Hungarian.png Hungarian translation

Ó fényből született fény,
Jézus, világ megváltója.
Méltóztassál kegyesen meghallgatni
A hozzád könyörgők dicséretét és imáit.

Aki méltóztattál testet ölteni
Az elveszettekért,
Add, hogy áldott testednek
Tagjai lehessünk.
