1 O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
how green with life your branches! (2X)
As green you are through Summer’s close,
so you remain through Winter’s snows!
   O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
how green with Life your branches!

2 O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
my heart is glad to know you! (2X)
At Yuletide now, o redwood tree,
the highest joy, you hold for me!
   O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
my heart is glad to know you!

3 O Sempervirens, Evergreen, (2X)
   your raiment shows me wisdom,
that Steadfastness brings Hope in kind,
and Strength and Solace for all time!
   O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
   your raiment shows me wisdom!

4 O Sempervirens, Evergreen, (2X)
your ancient boughs breath for us!
Your breath of life through ages long,
has bless'd all creatures in Life's song!
   O Sempervirens, Evergreen,
Your ancient boughs breathe for us!

5 O Sempervirens, Evergreen, (2X)
   our fates must grow together!
Mankind must rise, tall strong and keen,
   Earth's Sempervirens to redeem!
Before we were, you've ever been,
Earth's past and life before us!
