Composer: John Hele
Lyricist:

Number of voices: 5vv   Voicing: SSATB + STB soloists
Genre: SacredCantata

Language: English
Instruments: Keyboard

First published: 1874
Description: This cantata was John Hele's exercise for the Oxford B.Mus in 1871. The British Library catalogue dates its publication to 1874. The subscription list implies that Hele funded the publication himself. The degree requirements at the time stipulated that the accompaniment must be for at least five stringed instruments. Hele does not specify whether his keyboard reduction in the published version is to be played on the piano or organ; it is reasonable to assume that he was amenable to either.
