English text Text by David Macfarlane
- Like sunlight gleams Thy grace, O Lord,
- The pow'r by which all living grow.
- It shines on all and thus affords
- That all might reap the things they sow.
- All life and labor it sustains
- And man's divinity unchains.
- As we ascend life's stony path,
- We look to heav'n and softly pray
- For strength to do Thy bidden task;
- We know Thou wilt provide a way.
- Though we are weak, help us endure
- And make our exaltation sure.
- Ye straying souls who fear and hide,
- Whose works are veiled by dark of night,
- Will you reject that Son who shines?
- Come forward and be led by light!
- His outstretched hand is unto all
- Who hear His voice and heed His call.
- We find His grace by works of faith;
- Let righteous deeds fill heart and home!
- That in us all might see His face
- And glorify the Father's throne.
- Precept on precept, grace for grace,
- The Savior's path our steps retrace.
