La terre son Dieu va louant
et chante sa bonté notoire,
la mer bruit son nom bien souvent
et le soleil preche sa gloire.

Au soleil s'accorde la lune;
tout dit, tout bruit, soit en haut ou en bas
le los de Dieu de voix commune.
Quoi donques le lou'rons nous pas?

English translation

Earth goes praising her God
and sings of his well-known goodness,
the sea regularly sounds his name
and the sun preaches his glory.

The moon agrees with the sun;
all speak, all sound, be they high or low,
the praise of God in a common voice.
Why then don't we praise him?
