Biography Anchieta was born 1462 in the vicinity of Azpeitia, joining Isabella's chapel in 1489. Following her death in 1504 he served queen Joanna and visited Flanders and England with an entourage that included Pierre de la Rue, Alexander Agricola and Marbrianus de Orto.
