Life
Born: 24 July 1928. at Barcelona, Spain/Catalonia
Biography
Bachelor of Arts from Seminarium Conciliare Barcinonense; previously 10 years as student at Barcelona's Seminarium.
Studies included:
- Harmony, Counterpoint & Fugue, Composition, with Prof. J. Zamacois.
- Piano with Mr Lluis Mª Millet.
- Organ with A. Massana.
- Gregorian Chant with Mr Michael Altisent
- Choral Conducting with Mrs J. Ubeda & Ll. Puig.
- Orchestration with Mr Fco Montserrat Ayarbe.
- Jazz orchestration with Mr E. Ulierte.
Former member of Schola Cantorum SCB; Former Conductor and scores arranger for Coral L'Ideal d'en Clavé.
Now retired, this composer's works include:
- Symphonic Suites for large orchestra
- Many pieces for piano or church organ (or for solo instruments)
- Many choral compositions for 2-6 mixed voices, often with lyrics written by the composer
- 42 Sardanes for Cobla (Catalan folk wind ensemble)
- Some arrangements for wind ensemble, and also for small Latin rhythm ensemble
