Biography: Born in Caracas, he is known as the oldest Venezuelan composer. He also worked as «maestro de musica» for the Venezuelan Army, and as independent musician for many religious services. His reduced output, consisting mainly of sacred works, exhibits a transition between the galant and classical style, proper of the last decades of eighteenth century.
