Life
Born: flourished 1530-1545
Died: before 1567
Biography Courtois is documented as petit vicaire at Cambrai 1516–17 and 1534–35 and maître de chapelle to Bishop Robert de Croÿ in 1540, when Venite populi terrae was performed for Charles V, on his way to put down a revolt at Ghent. Guicciardini, in his Descrittione … di tutti Paesi Bassi (1567) lists him with other dead composers of Josquin's generation.
