Description: The book is dedicated to members of the Khisl (italianised: Chiseli) family from Styria (Steiermark, now in Austria) and Carniola (Krajna in Slovenian, Krain in German, Cragno in Italian), and some other people of their company. Two brothers, Johann Jakob (Giovan Giacomo) and Karl (Carlo) studied in Padua, where Duc lived, at the time the book was published, and are the main dedicatees; one madrigal, Giovan Giacomo et Carlo, directly adresses them in the text.
