2. Cantan gl'augelli in liù soave stile,
vien fresco e chia ro il bel cristallo fora,
Zeffir le verde piaggie imperla e indora,
e gl'arbor veste in habito gentile.

a farne meco homai lie to soggiorno.

1. Now that April is returning beautifully and gracefully
and fills me with such a desire every hour,
honor the air, the earth and the water and the heavens
the new season I long for.

2. The birds sing in a sweet style,
like beautiful crystal, fresh and clear,
Zeffir blows over the green meadows in mother-of-pearl and gilded,
and the arbor is dressed in a soft robe.

3. I dry my tears and dress with sweetness,
I hope to see my beautiful wife
full of charm and grace,
to stay with me happily.
