General Information

Title: Gloria (from 'Missa Gallinum Huma')
Composer: Oliver Barton

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Genre: Sacred, Masses

Language: English
Instruments: a cappella
Published: 2000

Description:

This setting is energetic with a more reflective middle section. There is a certain debt to the Missa Luba and the singers ought to feel quite exhausted by the end.

I haven't written the rest of the mass yet. "Gallinum huma" could be translated as "interred chicken" or, with a little imagination, "Hen-bury". It was written for the Henbury Singers in Bristol.
