Biography

He was born in Brescia in October 1867. He studied piano there with Giovanni Premoli, but in 1884 he left for the Milan Conservatory. Here he studied counterpoint with Prof. Saladin and composition with Alfredo Catalani graduating in July 1889. For some time, he held the post of lecturer in harmony at the same conservatory. Then, in 1892, he was organist at San Marco in Venice for a few months, during the absence of Oreste Ravanello. Afterwards, he moved to the Instituto Musicale di Savigliano, where he remained for several years as teacher and principal. He later moved to Turin, becoming organist of the cathedral and of the parish of St. Augustine. He died in Turin on 9th June 1948. (Translated from click here)
