French text Gens qui parlez mal de mon amie en ne savez pas bien comment vous avez tort: elle ne m'y tient aucun propos de vous si je l'aime parfaitement, pourquoi avez vous envie? En dépit de vous, je la servirai loyalement toute ma vie.

English translation You wicked tongues who pass the time by railing Against my sweetheart, what a wrong you do! Do you suppose she speaks to me of you? My love for her is true, it is unfailing.
