Biography

Frederick Cook Atkinson was born at Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was a chorister at Norwich Cathedral and served as assistant organist. He was educated at Cambridge. He became organist and choirmaster in St. Luke’s Church, Manningham, Bradford; and he held similar positions at Norwich Cathedral and at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Lewisham. He died in East Dereham, Norfolk. His compositions include complete Anglican services, anthems, hymn tunes, piano pieces, songs, and part-songs.
