The intention in creating this edition was simply to overcome some difficulties arising from the layout of the original wartime edition with the voice parts mostly in short score. However, the need for some editorial decision-making became apparent during type-setting. The single source is the original 1940 edition by Oxford University Press. Clear errors are corrected without comment, and cautionary accidentals freely added.
