Artifex mirus es, æterne Deus,
tu cardines coelorum solidasti,
tu lumen fulgens tribuisti Soli
et Lunæ cursum circum terræ globum,
tu Iridem formasti discolorem.
Per te facti sunt rores & pruinæ,
terra gramine per te convestitur,
labuntur aquæ montibus opacis.

A might craftsman are you, eternal God:
you fastened the hinges of the skies,
you, resplendent light, planned the orbits of the Sun
and of the Moon around the globe of the earth,
you created the multicoloured rainbow.
Through you are created dew and frost,
though you is the earth clothed with grass,
and flow waters from shaded mountains.
