Biography
Edward Henry Thorne was born at Cranbourne, Dorset, England, and studied under Sir George Elvey at Chapel Royal. He held organist and choirmaster positions at Parish Church, Henley-on-Thames (at age 19); Chichester Cathedral; St. Patrick’s Church, Brighton; St. Anne’s, Soho; St. Peter’s, Onslow Gardens, South Kensington; and St. Michael’s, Cornhill.
