Ecco amor che trionfante,
seco i suoi vint'in nobil pomp'adduce,
volga ognun dal cieco duce,
piu veloce che puo gl'occhi e le piante,
e'l suo vestigio errante, fuggir non tardi,
che da suoi dardi
per altrui maigia mai rimedio fu.

Sott' il tenero sembiante,
dove pur regia maestà riluce,
nutre un foco senze luce,
quel che sembra fanicullo ed è gigante,
ne al suo ferir d'avante,
vaglion riguardi,
ad huom, che tardi,
dal luogo volga il passo, ov' egli fu.

Raro è ben fra la sua greggia,
ove infelice anch'io tormento è sudo,
che dir poss'io mi dischiudo,
dal suo carcer crudel' che si danneggia
onde ciascun proveggia,
pria che l'aggrave nodo soave,
che se v'incorre non scorrassi piu.
