Italian.png Italian text

 Dove sorge piacevole,
Sebeto e dilettevole,
V’è un bel ricetto ch’alte
Piant’adombrano,
E da cor mesti ogni gran noia sgombrano,
Quivi lieta sedea fra l’herbe tenere.
Gente amica di Venere,
Ch’in quest’ accenti allegri a voce varia,
Facea risonar l’aria,
Cantiam ninfe e pastori,
Viva la bella Dori.

English.png English translation

 Where the Sebethos rises
pleasantly and delightfully,
there is a wonderful sanctuary
shaded by tall trees,
which banish every dull care from woeful hearts.
Here among the tender plants
happily sat the friends of Venus,
who in these happy verses in various voices
made the air resound.
Let us sing, nymphs and shepherds:
“Long live fair Dori!”.

Waar de Sebeto aangenaam
en verrukkelijk ontspringt,
daar is een mooie schutplaats
in de schaduw van hoge bomen,
waar alle hartepijn verdwijnt.
Hier zaten, tussen het tere gewas,
de gelukkige vrienden van Venus,
die in luchtige klanken met alle stemmen
de lucht lieten weerschallen:
"Laat ons zingen, nimfen en herders,
Lang leve de schone Dori!"
