Life

Born: 26 October 1685

Died: 23 July 1757

Biography:

Son of Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725), although Domenico's fame rests on some 600 harpsichord sonatas, he is also known to have written operas (Ottavia restituita, Il Giustino, Amor d'un ombra) and some sacred music including two Misereres, a Stabat Mater and, for soprano solo, a Salve Regina.
