Italian text
De l'amato chi ama,
Si gode nutr' e pasce,
Ma se la fede che d'amor è scorta,
Altra novella per lo sdegno apporta,
Gela il foco ard' il gelo,
E ne l'inferno e in cielo,
Dunque d'Amor nel regno,
Regna talhor la fe talhor lo sdegno.
