Come poss’io, Madonna,il bel desio,
Che di voi sì m’accese la mia stella,
Volger’ad altra più gentile,ò bella,
Se più bella,ò gentil mai non vid’io?
In voi dolce spiegò Natura,e Dio,
Quanta fu, nè fia mai beltate, e quella
Di gentilezza tal viva favella,
Che fè profonda piaga entro il cor mio.
Da indi in quà, tra mille nodi stretto,
Sempre si fu con voi, nè giovar preghi,
Nè lagrime, ch’à me tornar non volse
Come esser più dunque , che tanto affetto
A più bella ò gentil mai volga,ò pieghi,
Se sì bella e gentile il cor mi tolse?
