Come la cera al foco,
Ch'accenda esca terrena,
Si va struggendo e manca a poco a poco,
Cosi gli affanni onde la vita e piena,
E le gioie e i diletti
Vani, e terrestri affetti,
Si van struggendo a queste
Fiamme, ch'accende esca d'amor celeste.
