Com'al primo apparir del chiaro giorno
S'allegra il Ciel, ride la terra, e fuori
Corron più chiare l'acque, e i suoi colori
Spiega la bella Flora d'ogn'intorno
Cantan gli augei l'aspettato ritorno
Della dolce alba, e i ruggiadosi fiori
Spirano in ogni part' Arabi odori,
Rendendo il proprio suol ricco ed adorno.

English translation

As at the first appearance of a clear day
Heaven rejoices, the earth laughs,
and the waters run clearer,
beautiful Flora spreads her colors all around,
the birds sing the expected return
of the sweet dawn, and the dew-covered flowers
everywhere breathe Arabian odors,
making the ground itself rich and adorned.
