English text
On a hill far away stood a cross
on the wood of said cross died our Lord
but the wounds in His hands no more are bleeding
for The One who was hanging there is living.
He was pierced with a lance in His side
while the women on Calvary cried.
Now those tears are replaced with joyful singing
for The One Who was crucified is risen.
With a garland of thorns He was crowned
and His captors believed He was bound
but the crown on His Head today is gleaming
for The One they watched dying now is living.
