:I agree with Rob, some templates that categorize the page should be avoided in Music publications (that includes Voicing, Lyricist, Language etc.). We must take care, though, with some editions with "(Various)" in the title , which can be strictly defined as Music publications but don't have individual entries for each music, so the Music publication's page itself needs to be categorized. —[[User:Carlos|Carlos]] [http://choralwiki.net/wiki/index.php/User_talk:Carlos {{filepath:Email.gif}}] 20:19, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Rob and Carlos!  I thought you would agree (I was doing my best to be mild-mannered about framing the question, even though I'm in complete agreement with both of you!).  I'll remove the Composer templates from the Byrd collections.

Should Byrd's Music publications be in this category?

 Help

This category lists 285 items, of which 279 are actually composition pages for Byrd. There seem to be 6 items from Music publications included by virtue of having {{Composer|William Byrd}} affixed ("Cantiones, quae ab argumento..." is excluded since there is no Composer template there):

I'm not sure, but I lean towards having the Composer template not applied to pages which are Music publications. What do others think?

That would make sense to me, Chuck. We want compositions listed in such categories, not publications edited/compiled/published by the composer or other collections associated with the composer. --Bobnotts talk 17:59, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Rob, some templates that categorize the page should be avoided in Music publications (that includes Voicing, Lyricist, Language etc.). We must take care, though, with some editions with "(Various)" in the title , which can be strictly defined as Music publications but don't have individual entries for each music, so the Music publication's page itself needs to be categorized. —Carlos Email.gif 20:19, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
