Reformation Day is celebrated by Lutheran and Calvinist churches on October 31, as a commemoration of the beginning of the Reformation: it takes its date from 31 October 1517, when Martin Luther sent his Ninety-five Theses to Albert of Brandenburg, Archbishop of Mainz, and may have posted them on the door of All Saints' Church, Wittenberg (according to the account given by Philip Melanchthon).
