Original text and translations
The onely Lord of Israel be praised evermore:
for through his visitation, & mercy kept in store:
his people now he hath redeemed, that long hath beene in thrall:
& spread abroad his saving health, upon his sevants all.
In Davids house, his servant true according to his minde:
and also his annoynted king, as wee in Scripture finde,
as by his holyProfets all oft times hee did declare,
the which were since the world began, his waies for to prepare.
That we might bee delivered, from those that make debate:
our enemies and from the hands of all that doe us hate.
The mercy which hee promised our Fathers to fulfill:
and think ypon his covenant made according to his will.
And also to performe the oth, which hee before had swore
to Abraham our father deere, for us that were forlorne.
that hee would give himselfe for us and us from bondage bring.
out of the hands of all our foes, to serve our heavenly king.
