Description: Gudrun Wassermann writes in Geschichte und Entwicklung des Kärntnerliedes (matreier Gespräche) that the text goes back to the poet Johann Gabriel Seidl. Thinking of his beloved Theres, Seidl wrote:

An deina Link'n laß mich sitzen,
an deina Link'n sitz ih gern,
denn da kann ih, wann ma stad san,
dein Herzerl schlag'n hör'n.

This became popular in Carinthia. If in Ebental one still heard: "Af deiner Link'n", then around the the same time the Weißensteiner near Villach already sang: "Ba da Lind'n bin i g'sess'n", while at Neckheim it says: "Unt'r d'r Linden".

1.
Bei d'r Lind'n bin i gsess'n,
bei der Lind'n sitz i gern, ja,
da kann ma, wann's schee windstad is,
des Herz klopf'n hörn.
2.
Von der Seit'n von der Leit'n,
kimmt a scheans Dirnei her, ja,
hat's Hüatle auf der Seitn
schaut kloa verzwickt her.
3.
Jetzt möcht i halt wiss'n,
soll i bleib'n, soll i gehn, ja,
des Dirnei is so liab
und die Welt is so schee.
