Biography
Brazilian Franciscan Friar, composer, and writer. Born Hugo Röwer to Wilhelm Röwer and Wilhelmina Schulte. He was sent to Bahia, Brazil, as a Franciscan missionary in 1895, and was given the name of Frei Basílio. Wrote 28 books in Brazilian Portuguese, most of them descriptive history of places or organizations of religious significance in Brazil.
