Life

Barbara Rosen has lived in NYC for her entire life, choosing Brooklyn as a young adult. There she has maintained a private, in-house shelter for unwanted animals (now almost always cats: www.barbarathecatlady.org) for over 53 years.

She is a retired public elementary school teacher, artist, published writer (stories, articles, poems), gardener and trained singer. She began composing after joining the Renaissance Street Singers (www.streetsingers.org), an inspiration for several poems and compositions.
