General Information

Title: Ave Verum (Unissimo)
Composer: Antonio Grimaldi
Lyricist:
Number of voices: 1v   Voicing: Unison
Genre: SacredMotet

Language: Latin
Instruments: Organ

First published: 1930
Description: This is a simple unison Ave Verum that Father Grimaldi composed in 1930 for St. Mary and St. John's church, Wolverhampton. It was regularly performed there up to the 1980's, but fell into oblivion in later years. It has been dug out of the old music archives of that church and transcribed on the feast of St. Caecilia, November 2022. Starting with this very fine work, hopefully more of Grimaldi's music will follow!
