Description: This work is included in Volume 5 of the Opera Omnia by Thomas Crecquillon, to whom it is now confidently attributed: "CMM 063-05, no.1 Andreas Christi famulus - Dilexit Andream" (Published by the American Institute of Musicology; on the website, you cannot find which sources were used.) On the other hand, this work can also be found in Volume 1 of Thesaurus Musicus (1564). The author given in the table of contents is Moralis. RISM (currently) knows no Andreas Christi famulus of Thomas Crecquillon. Under Cristóbal de Morales are listed - in addition to the 5-part version - also manuscripts of an 8-part version: (the two RISM links below), whereby reference is made to the printed version in the Thesaurus musicus from 1564.
The attribution is discussed in detail in Martin Ham's PhD thesis (link below). Ham suggests that the piece was written for a meeting of the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1546.

Latin text Andreas Christi famulus, dignus Deo Apostolus, germanus Petri et in passione socius. Dilexit Andream Dominus in odorem suavitatis. 1564 version: O Iesu Christe, Fili Dei, ora pro nobis. (Tenor cantus firmus: Sanctus Andreas gaudet in caelis.) 1576 version: Sancte Andrea, ora pro nobis.

English translation Andrew, servant of Christ, worthy apostle of God, brother of Peter and companion in his suffering. The Lord loved Andrew in the scent of his sweetness. O Jesus Christ, Son of God, pray for us. (Saint Andrew rejoices in heaven.) Saint Andrew, pray for us.
