Trips the lovely Amaryllis,
Daisies bend to let her pass,
Thrushes praise her in their song.
Lately all the skies were grey;
Now she's here the sun is shining.
Sad the hours when she's away,
Days are dark and nights are long.

2. Now let Strephon sound his flute,
Corydon, in song shall greet her.
Shy should reed or voice be mute,
