4 Blessèd be the time |
German translation
Adam war gefallen, tief in Schuld,
zahllose Winter trug er mit Geduld.
Und wegen eines Apfels ihm alles dies geschah,
wie’s lange schon geschrieben steht allda.
Wär nie der Apfel abgepflückt,
niemals hätt’ solch Krone Marien geschmückt.
Segen dieser Zeit, da man den Apfel aß,
darum wir wollen singen: Deo gracias.
