English text
- A virgin and Mother, a Queen celestial,
- as this day maketh exemplification,
- bare our Saviour Christ the Lord imperial
- who suff'red death for our salvation,
- it pleased him so to do for our transgression,
- wherefore with meek devotion sing we in honour of his incarnation.
- A maid immaculate, of all women the flower,
- hath born Christ Jesu our Saviour.
