Description: An alternatim setting of the hymn at Lauds and Second Vespers on Christmas Day in the Use of Sarum. The first and last polyphonic verses (vv. 2 and 8) share the same music and are in six parts. The middle two verses (vv.4 and 6) are for eight voices with split trebles and means, but the two means occasionally combine into one and, because of this and rests in the various voices, the music is never in eight real parts. The music of vv. 4 and 6 is also the same, except that in v.6 the two trebles and two means both swap their music. This means that, although the second mean part in these two verses is lost, the notes can easily be recovered from the first mean.
