Description: Published in Ingalls' Christian Harmony, 1805, pp. 39-40, for three voices: Treble-Tenor-Bass. Words by an unknown author, before 1800; Ingalls 1805 has seven stanzas. A folk hymn; see Jackson 1953a, No. 145, and Solemn Thought (James P. Carrell) of 1821.
