Latin text 1  Surge, illuminare, [Jerusalem], quia venit lumen tuum, et gloria Domini super te orta est. 2  Quia ecce tenebrae operient terram et caligo populos. Super te autem orietur Dominus et gloria eius in te videbitur.

English translation 1  Arise, shine [O Jerusalem]; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. 2  For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. (KJV)

German translation Mache dich auf, werde licht; denn dein Licht kommt, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN geht auf über dir! Denn siehe, Finsternis bedeckt das Erdreich und Dunkel die Völker; aber über dir geht auf der HERR, und seine Herrlichkeit erscheint über dir.
