Description: The 12 setting in a collection of 16 settings, two in each of the eight tones, printed 1563 by Petrus Phalese: "Canticum Beatae Mariae ... Per octo Musice modos variatum...". This is the second set in the sixth tone where the even verses are set polyphonically. The original print does not give the odd verses in chant to be sung alternatim with the polyphony. Most of the polyphonic sections are in four voices but verse 8 Esurientes implevit bonis is a SAB trio and the final Sicut erat in principio is for six voices SSATBB.
