- A variant of the poem used in Io son ferito ay lasso (Jean de Castro), Io son ferito hai lasso (Giovanni Francesco Capuano) and Io son ferito ahi lasso (Hippolito Sabino), and quite different from Io son ferito (Luca Marenzio). The text used by Capuano might be the primary source and will help to interpret the actual text.
- The text of Wounded I am - Yet of us twain (William Byrd) appears to be a contemporary English imitation of this ottava, reworked as a sonnet.
