Latin and Spanish text Verbum caro factum est Porque todos os salvéis, porque todos os salvéis. Y la Virgen le dezía: Vida de la vida mia, Hijo mio, ¿qué os haría, Que no tengo en qué os echéis? Verbum caro factum est Porque todos os salvéis, porque todos os salvéis. O riquezas (temporales/terrenales), ¿No daréis unos pañales A Jesu que entre animales Es nasçido según véis? Verbum caro factum est Porque todos os salvéis

English translation Verbum caro factum est for the salvation of us all. And the Virgin spoke to Him: Life of my life, My son, what shall I do, having nothing in which to dress you? O you the rich of this world, will you not give a swaddling cloth to Jesus, born amidst the beasts as you may behold?

German translation Das Wort ist Fleisch geworden damit ihr alle erlöst werdet. Und die Jungfrau sprach zu ihm: „Leben meines eigenen Lebens, mein Sohn, was würde ich für dich tun, habe ich doch nichts, worauf du liegen kannst?“ O irdische Reichtümer, würdet ihr nicht einige Windeln schenken an Jesus, der mitten unter Tieren geboren ist, wie ihr hier seht?

Italian translation Il Verbo si è fatto carne Affinché tutti siano salvati. E la Vergine gli diceva: “Vita della mia vita, Figlio mio, cosa devo fare, non avendo niente con cui vestirti?” O ricchezze terrene, non dareste delle fasce a Gesù, nato, come vedete, in mezzo alle bestie?
